John is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Business Ethics and Society Program at the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, where he teaches business ethics, the intersection of theology and business, political economy, and in the Business Honors Program.  His areas of research include Christianity and capitalism, Catholic Social Teaching, business and the common good, environmental ethics, bioethics, and marriage and family life, all especially informed by the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas and St. John Paul II.  In addition to teaching at Notre Dame, John has also taught courses for the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, the Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, and at the Pontifical John Paul II University in Kraków (Poland), as well as thirteen years in various leadership roles at the Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.  John is married to his wife and fellow "Domer," Monica, and together they are raising five daughters and two sons. Originally hailing from Utah, John enjoys spending time in the great outdoors camping, backpacking, hiking, and downhill skiing.
